PUNTA SAN JUAN, A CONSERVATION STORY
One of the most productive places on earth.
In 2014 I found the Punta San Juan Reserve on the Peruvian coast, a spectacular source of inspiration, because it is a place that has all the necessary components to tell a unique and exciting story, which contributes to redouble efforts for its preservation. I found a haven for animal life privileged by its location and abundance, the drama and passion implicit in the work of a group of scientists, park rangers and local and international organizations that for decades have struggled to care for a small reserve facing the pressures of urban growth, pollution and commercial interests. Through the conceptualization and development of a limited edit book and a large -format itinerant exhibition, an exceptional opportunity was generated to amplify these efforts and contribute to consolidate a unique and exemplary conservation model in Peru.
PUNTA SAN JUAN, A CONSERVATION STORY
is a portfolio of more than 250 striking images compiled by the photographer Bernardo Sambra over a period of seven years that takes us in a journey through time and highlight the importance and challenges of a unique conservation model in what is perhaps one of the most biologically productive places in the world’s oceans: the Punta San Juan Reserve on the Peruvian coast.

THE HUMAN FOOTPRINT SERIES
When earth’s surface is transformed by human presence
As a photographer I am interested in the relationship between man and nature. In my photography I focus on powerful images of creatures and landscapes that can establish a connection and sensitize the viewer and raise awareness about the urgency to protect our planet.
